Landsystems Design

The Design Team

Landsystems has teamed up with Lifescapes LLC to provide creative landscape designs to fit your lifestyle.

Gary is the owner of Landsystems and has over thirty years of experience in landscape design, construction, and horticulture in Central Oregon. He has a degree in landscape architecture and horticulture from Oregon State University. Although Gary is a true OSU Beaver fan, he works well with others and enjoys talking about the teams.

Karen Rossetto Eng, with Lifescapes, has been working with Gary since 1995. She has a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho and is a licensed landscape contractor. Karen provides unique design options to help your landscape reach its potential. She loves to create outdoor living spaces that
draw people out of their home, plant compositions that provide a beautiful seasonal display and function, and grow strong relationships with clients.  She comes from a long family line of talented gardeners and loves to work in her yard as well as create beautiful landscapes for Central Oregon.

Our goal is to provide a positive experience and develop a long standing relationship with our clients. We have great passion for what we do and hope to show you the potential of your property with creative and unique design ideas.

Design Services

We welcome design work for small areas to large estates and have different levels of services available to fit your needs.

Design Consultation

Have a designer visit your home for a consultation. This service is ideal for a smaller scale project. We can address adding curb-appeal and landscape enhancements, plant composition, waterfeatures, grading, and general layout of spaces. Plant identification and care tips can also be included. A free-hand sketch may be provided as part of this service. If you would like assistance through the installation process we can provide an estimate for the work discussed.

This service is $75 per hour with a minimum fee of $75 and includes one way travel.

Custom Residential Master Plan

This service is ideal for people with a newly constructed home that does not have existing landscaping or where a major landscaping renovation is desired. The master plan may include entry development, backyard living space, waterscapes, sprinkler system, nightscaping, and plant composition. The fees for this service are specific to the site and scope of the project.

New to Bend...

We moved to Bend two years ago with a lot of gardening experience in the valley, but none in the climate & conditions of Central Oregon. After researching & meeting several landscape companies, we met Gary and knew we'd found the connection we were looking for. Gary introduced us to Karen, and we were off on a fun & rewarding experience. Since our home was not yet completed, we were able to incorporate Karen's ideas for patios & walkways, as well as a complete plan for planting. We've called on the expertise of the Landsystems staff again & again as we filled our garden with color, texture & beauty. There is such a good vibe at the nursery; we always feel like family when we stop by.

Return Client...

Karen Rossetto has planned and implemented two different landscape projects for me in the last ten years. I have always found Karen to be a joy to work with whether the project was running smooth or there were problems to be ironed out. She is knowledgeable, courteous, and conscientious when it comes to her work. It is apparent that Karen takes great pride in seeing a project through to completion. And while no landscape project is accomplished without some issue arising, I have always found Karen to be responsive to my needs. When I take the time to clearly communicate my issues and expectations I can count on Karen to make sure that the job is done to my satisfaction. I would recommend Karen Rossetto to anyone looking for help with a landscape need.

We contacted Landsystems last year to help us design the landscaping at a house we were remodeling. As usual, the landscaping came near the end of the project when we were running shy of resources, so we asked Gary and Karen if they could do the design for the hard and green scapes, while we would do the actual work.

They readily agreed to do just the design. The short story is that they completed the design on time and on budget, even after we asked them to modify a few things on the plans. And the design was great! It included all of the hardscape design, planting diagrams, as well as irrigation and lighting design. They successfully captured what we envisioned – facilitated by an extensive questionnaire they had us complete prior to their design work, photo sessions, and intensive discussions.

During the hardscape construction we asked Karen to come by to give us some guidance on the project. She was a great help and gave us the confidence to continue. Now, about a year later, we are ready to get started on the final stages of the project and are doing so with confidence inspired by a great “roadmap” provided by Gary and Karen.

Landscape Overhaul...

A few years ago, Karen Rossetto at Landsystems consulted with me to redesign my back yard, and once designed, her team went to work to make it a reality. I had two objectives: to combine a disjointed yard into one smoothly flowing landscape and to turn it into a yard that required less manual maintenance on my part. Karen came up with the perfect design to suit my needs. Her design included a variety in shrubs and trees yet it all has symmetry. I love it that the different shrubs and trees bloom at different times throughout the spring, summer and fall. It is a visual delight and I always look forward to the next one blooming in succession. And now that they are mature and have a life of their own, I can enjoy more free time to sit in my back yard and just take it all in.
